I've washed them multiple times and have had no color, shrinkage, or fraying issues. I will say if you have a pet that sits and pees a quart, yes it will soak through. The cover is very nice. Covers my sofa perfectly. I have dogs who jump around alot. Even with this the cover stays in place pretty well. I am pleased with this purchase.
